Built in 1883, is this beautiful Victorian home is steeped in coastal charm and history. Nestled in the heart of Ramsgate’s elegant West Cliff area, the house was originally part of a thriving seaside community during the height of the town’s popularity as a fashionable resort for wealthy holidaymakers in the 19th century.

Just around the corner, Spencer Square offers a special cultural connection – the famous artist Vincent van Gogh once lived and worked here in 1876. He lodged at 11 Royal Road and taught at a local school nearby. A statue of Van Gogh now stands proudly in Spencer Square as a tribute to his time in Ramsgate, where he admired the town’s beauty and coastal light, long before he became a household name.

The Paragon itself, with its distinctive architecture and sweeping sea views, was once home to naval officers, merchants, and families enjoying the golden age of British seaside leisure. You’re just a short walk from the Royal Harbour – the only Royal Harbour in the UK – which received its status from King George IV in 1821.
